Working as Principal Contractor, BWC has successfully completed a major pumping station upgrade for Wessex Water in Bournemouth, delivered across a challenging six-week programme.
The project covered the complete site installation and commissioning works, including civil works, site temporaries, removal of the existing kiosk control panel, and the installation and commissioning of a new kiosk and control panel. Our team also replaced the existing anti-fall guard and provided 24-hour call-out cover throughout the works.
With the site located alongside a public car park, careful coordination was essential. BWC worked closely with the local council to temporarily take over sections of the car park, maintaining safe access while minimising disruption to members of the public.
Despite extreme weather conditions, disruption and reactive call-outs, the project was successfully completed within the agreed six-week timescale.
The Bournemouth project demonstrates BWC’s ability to manage complex water infrastructure upgrades from start to finish, combining technical expertise, programme management, public liaison and on-site delivery while maintaining safety and operational performance throughout.
